Catechetical Certification
in the Diocese of Lafayette
By his apostolic letter, Antiquum Ministerium, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, established the Ministry of Catechist as a formal ministry in the Catholic Church.
In collaboration with the Office of Catechesis for the Diocese of Lafayette and with Most Rev. Douglas Deshotel’s approval, Aquinas Lafayette will offer courses for Catechetical credit ordered toward preparing individuals to be instituted in the Ministry of Catechist.
Curriculum
The required courses from Aquinas Lafayette to obtain Catechetical Credit are as follows:
Theology of the Body
Spiritual Theology
Church History
Christology & Mariology
2 Electives
Students are assessed by a pass/fail final oral exam at the end of each course.

Personality and Profile of a Successful PCL - Basic DRE RA Certification Track
Planning for Success: Program Organization and Assessment - Basic DRE RA Certification Track
Discipling Adults - Advanced DRE RA Certification Track
Tuition
Each course offered for Catechetical Credit will cost $250.
